Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act 2010 (ONCA) was proclaimed on October 21, 2021, and replaces the previous Act under which RASC Ottawa has operated. Existing corporations have until October 21, 2024 to transition to the new act.
Letters Patent, Articles of Amendment and Bylaws should be updated to comply with ONCA, else all parts of the old Letters, Articles and Bylaws that do not comply with ONCA are deemed invalid meaning it will be difficult to know which provisions remain valid and which ones are invalid.
We need to update our documents.
