RASC Ottawa Public Star Parties

About our free Public Star Parties

Our free monthly stargazing events –  star parties – are where we invite the public to look through telescopes set up by members keen to share their passion of the night sky. They are wonderful family-friendly events and well-suited for people who wish to know more about the night sky.

You do not need to bring a telescope to attend. If you have binoculars, bring them with you. Otherwise, just bring yourself!

Do you have a telescope but are having trouble using it?  Bring it along 90 minutes before sunset. We can help you to set up equipment and help diagnose – and perhaps even correct! – any problems to get you started.

Our star parties are held in the parking lot of the Carp Branch of the Ottawa Public library (scroll down for map and location).  All star parties are free. Conveniences are provided.  We have a guide for visitors of you’re not sure what to expect.
